John Connelly is the owner and president of JC Connelly, Inc., an art agency providing curatorial projects, consulting (for both collectors and artists), collection management, and curated travel for museum groups and their donors.  He is the former Director of The Felix Gonzalez-Torres Foundation, where he led educational and archival efforts in support of the Foundation's mission to foster appreciation and study of Gonzalez-Torres's works by scholars, art historians, and the general public. While working at Andrea Rosen Gallery from 1994 through 2002, he had the opportunity to work directly with Gonzalez-Torres and gained a unique perspective into the artist's intentions and modes of production. In 2000, Connelly created a nomadic curatorial project called John Connelly Presents (JCP). From 2000 to 2010, JCP grew and expanded into a renowned contemporary art gallery, representing over 20 international artists. During this period, Connelly co-founded the New Art Dealers Alliance (NADA) to support and encourage collaboration among his fellow art dealers and professionals. Along with the artist Andrea Zittel, Connelly also co-founded the experimental exhibition platform High Desert Test Sites in Joshua Tree, CA. He holds a BA in Art History from SUNY Purchase and continued his Master’s studies in Art History at Hunter College in New York. He served as an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Art Market, Principles and Practice program at the School for Graduate Studies, FIT (SUNY), and has written for and contributed to a diverse range of publications, including Flash Art, Index, Surface, Zing, and Santa Barbara Magazine.
