Shared Experiences of Colonization

Lazaro Arvizu Jr. discusses why framing broad human experiences as culture itself is impactful on his life's work. Although Arvizu creates art drawn from his family's experience of being Gabrielino, by using "our culture" he assumes an understanding that all tribes are impacted by the same colonial processes.
