BIOGRAPHY

Luis A. Muro Ynoñán is a Peruvian anthropological archaeologist, educator, and curator. He holds a master's degree and a Ph.D. from Stanford University and a bachelor's degree from the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru. He has worked on Peru's north coast for more than 15 years, focusing on the study of pre-modern societies that developed there, including the Moche.

His broad theoretical interests include the study of religion, politics, death, and performance in the past. He also explores issues around heritage ethics, cultural rights, and decoloniality in archaeology.
