Mario Muñoz Cayetano (‘Urú Temai in Wixárika) is President emeritus of the Wixárika Union of Ceremonial Centers of Jalisco, Durango, and Nayarit A.C., an organization that works to advance the protection of Wixárika sacred places and advocates for Wixárika cultural and territorial rights. He is a member of the newly formed Nuevo Valey Wixarika community of Nayarit and received his undergraduate degree in law.
