A Bridge Between People and Places

Anuradha Vikram talks about Tanya Aguiñiga’s work as being deeply connected to communities in Los Angeles and Mexico, where she grew up, and describes it as a physical and material bridge between these places and people. She explain how Aguiñiga’s rope-like form represents social connections that hold communities together, while also pointing to ongoing realities, such as immigration enforcement, economic uncertainty, and violence, especially against women on both sides of the border.
