Patrisse Cullors describes her intention to incorporate a moving visual element into the exhibition that would fully immerse viewers from floor to ceiling. She wanted to create an environment where visitors could physically and visually connect to the natural origins of the orishas, grounding the spiritual in the elements of the earth. The installation honors Eshu at the river, Yemoja at the ocean, Obatala in the mountains, and Oya in the grove—each placed within their elemental domain.
