Important Jain Pilgrimage Sites

Some of the most significant Jain pilgrimage sites, especially for the Shvetāmbara tradition, are located in Gujarat. Key among them are Shatrunjay, near Palitana, and Girnar, a sacred mountain believed to be where the 22nd Jina, Neminatha, attained nirvana. Neminatha holds special importance due to his connection as Krishna’s cousin, highlighting the interwoven narratives between Jain and Hindu traditions.
